We use only the highest quality water activated face paint brands that are EU & FDA approved, safe and gentle on sensitive skin. These face paints are non-toxic and easy to apply and remove, without any cracking or itching.
We have a large network of local artists in: Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Tauranga, Taupo, Rotorua
From time to time, we might be able to arrange for artists in the following cities, depending on availability. Please contact us before booking these cities and the rest of New Zealand: Nelson, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Napier, Whangamata, Tairua, Waiheke Island, Gulf Harbour, Orewa, Whangaparoa and Great Barrier Island. Travel and accommodation fees where applicable are additional.
The majority of our team is based in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. However we do have artists located in Hamilton, Taupo, Tauranga, Rotorua, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Napier & the Hawkes Bay. Our artists are available for travel NZ wide for a travel fee and we can arrange accommodation too if overnight travel is required for corporate events.
If they’re available, absolutely! If they’re not available we’ll do our best to move things in order to accommodate your request. Alternatively, we can book from our large pool of artists and will book someone with a similar style and level of experience.
Our online booking system allows bookings four days prior to your event. While we do have a large network of artists available, it is recommended that you book in advance.
In the rare instance, if we are unable to fill your booking request, a full refund will be provided and you will be notified ASAP. For our private clients, we do require full payment prior to confirming a booking.
October through to May is our busy corporate season, so artist availablility might be limited. Please refer to the cancellation and changes terms below.
Our artists are priced at industry standard rates, meaning our prices are super competitive amongst other professional companies.
We do offer some premium add-on options, but they are totally optional to make your event experience unforgettable.
Our artists are all self-employed professionals and are re-imbursed accordingly. We are also GST registered so all prices include GST and will be reflected in your invoice.
Our artists contstantly particapate in training workshops and our company constantly offers our artists upskilling options, with their knowledge and skill constantly being taken to the next level.
Yes, all our contract artists are covered under our $2m policy through AIG Insurance. An Insurance certificate can be provided upon request.
1x small table and 2x chairs per artist (or tall stools are preferable), a gazebo or under-cover away from the sun or wind (if outdoors) and good lighting.
For large or corporate events, please provide queue control. One queue only for all artists of the same type of service is recommended to keep the queue tidy and moving smoothly.
Yes, for bookings over 4 hours, a quick 10 minute refresh and meal break is required.
Adult supervision is required at all times as our artists would be focused on child on their seat and their task at hand.
It depends on the service booked and type of event. For face painting, balloon twisting and glitter tattoos: 16 kids per hour with quick designs or 10 kids for full faces. For larger events, our artists can work to the length of queue and can paint using stencils to improve queue times. Please refer to the individual service description and select from our options for more information on how many guests can be accomodated for a specific service.
Due to the mobile nature of our service, the minimum booking time per artist is 1.5 hours. Our artists need to take their travel, set-up and pack-down times into consideration too. If you are only having under 10 kids at your party, this would allow for either a more premium service with each guests, OR allow us to include some adults in the booked time too. If you are having an intimate party, our pamper party or party package options might be more suitable.
Not an issue. We would recommend booking a minimum of 2-3 artists to reduce queue times. Our artists will bust out quick designs and bring limited options for selection for corporate clients or large events. At private parties, we allow for a more premium experience, with each guest being able to choose the type of design and colours they prefer.
Yes absolutely! Our services are designed to be enjoyed by everyone young at heart and keen for a bit of fun! We just recommend booking additional time or artists if you would like adults included too. If things get too hectic at large events and queue times are over 30mins, we don’t allow adults to be painted, to ensure the kids have an enjoyable experience.
Health and Hygiene is top of our artist’s lists and they are all given correct instructions on and regularly practice sanitization methods. We can provide our business HSE plan for our corporate clients in addition to our site-specific plan for larger events. We carry baby wipes and hand sanitizer / iso alcohol and use Dettol to keep everything clean and tidy. Brushes are thoroughly rinsed between clients and sterilized and cleaned between parties. For everyone’s safety, we will not face paint anyone who appears to have a skin condition or any form of illness – a good alternative might be an awesome arm design.
All paints we use are high quality cosmetics imported from the US and Europe. They are FDA compliant (USA), approved for cosmetic use and water based. Our products are water based cosmetic makeup. We use a range of brands: Wolfe Brothers, Diamond FX, Paradise (which contain aloe, chamomile, avocado and cocoa butter – they smell amazing!), Superstar, Global Colours. All glitter is approved for cosmetic use and safe around eyes.
“Non-Toxic” does not mean “safe for skin”. Acrylic paints (AKA craft paints or tempura paints) are not meant to be used on the skin – nor are watercolour markers or pencils. Many people are allergic to the non-FDA approved chemicals and colourants used in craft paints and will break out in a rash when these paints are used. Watercolour/washable markers do not easily wash off skin – the term “washable” refers to their ability to wash off fabric easily, not skin. Professional-grade cosmetic face paint benefits from a lot of testing and are designed to be easy to work with, long lasting, comfortable to wear, vibrant and most importantly, safe. They wear well for many hours and wash off easily with mild soap and water when required. Your safety and the quality of our work is unparalleled; simply put, bad paints give bad results and can give bad reactions!
Yes! Our Daimond FX and Global brands are 100% vegan, just mention at the time of booking so we can book a suitable artist. Mineral clay based 100% natural makeup is also available, however the colours are not as vibrant and due to texture, the outcome is not as refined. Just keep this in mind at the time of booking. Additional costs may apply due to artist availability, alternatively we are able to courier suitable kits to the artists.
We recommend wiping the bulk off with baby wipes and then using soap and water. Paint may leave a slight stain in some cases. If the skin stains, please soak skin in lathered shaving cream for 5-10 mins to remove pigment from skin. We recommend using suncreen under your face painting; it acts like a skin barrier and reduces the chances of staining on the skin. For airbrushed makeup or glitter tattoos, use an exfoliating glove for removal.
Our artists only use hypo-allergenic and cosmetic grade product. Our products are also EU & FDA approved. For sensitive skin, we recommend using a barrier cream or sunblock to protect the skin. This also helps with staining. People with sensitive skin should not participate without a patch test from the artist. Our artist has the right to decline painting anyone who appears to be sick or suffering from any skin conditions.
While we use water based makeup and this generally washes out, dark coloured clothing is recommended as we cannot guarantee it will.
Our face painters start from $195 incl GST for a minimum 1.5 hour booking
– 24 kids small cheek designs in 1.5 hours
– 15 kids full faces in 1.5 hours
– additional travel costs apply for locations more than 15km from CBD
– bookings after 5pm incur a 20% surcharge
– clients are also required to provide queue control, pigtails or barriers for large events.
– Hamilton and the Waikato region can be arranged for a $65 incl GST travel fee
– parking charges are additional unless a car park can be provided for our artists
– For your face painter to arrive in costume*, add $65 incl GST (*Auckland & Christchurch only)
Bookings are only confirmed once full payment has been made. Upon booking confirmation, our artists schedules are confirmed also.
In the unlikely event that we don’t have an available artist in your area, travel can be arranged for an additional fee. We will notify you of this at the time of your booking and if this is unsuitable, you will be entitled to a full refund.
